Numaligarh Refinery Limited Football Academy (NRL FA) started in 2012 with the vision of empowering youngsters with the knowledge of football and becoming an advanced accredited football academy by the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
Now, NRL FA empowers and nourishes young talent in Assam, helping aspiring footballers turn their dreams into reality. The academy was established by Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) to create opportunities for football talent at grassroots and junior levels within North East India.
It has U-13, U-15, U-17, and U-19 age categories of teams and participates in various state, regional, and national-level tournaments, including the national I-League since 2015. The state-of-the-art infrastructural facility was inaugurated in Numaligarh, Assam, and the academy operates under the professional expertise of Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools (BBFS) and the Assam Football Association.

The qualified AIFF License holder coaches of NRL Football Academy not only focus on refining players' technical skills but also provide theoretical classes on football strategy. By imparting theoretical knowledge, these coaches aim to enhance players' strategic understanding, empowering them to plan their moves effectively on the field.
Through these sessions, players learn to anticipate the game, make informed decisions, and execute strategies that minimize errors during gameplay.

Nine players from NRL FA have been shortlisted to participate in the prestigious AIFF U17 Youth League. They represented Brothers Sports Association, a football club based in Maharashtra.
Additionally, four players from NRL FA were shortlisted and participated in the Reliance Foundation Development League U19. They represented Garhwal Heroes Football Club, an Indian professional football club based in New Delhi.
This opportunity highlights the caliber of talent nurtured at NRL FA, showcasing the academy's dedication to grooming young footballers for success on national platforms, and the accomplishment underscores the strength and depth of talent within NRL FA, as its players continue to make significant strides in competitive football leagues across the country.
In the U17 Youth League, four players emerged as top scorers from Brothers Sports Association Football Club. Sujoy Sinha distinguished himself by netting an impressive tally of four goals, a remarkable feat given the formidable competition in youth league tournaments.
Joining him in contributing to the club's success, Diojyoti Narzari and Rishikesh Saikia each added a goal to their team's tally, showcasing the impact of NRL FA's training regimen on their performance.
The achievements underscores not only the individual talent of these players but also the effectiveness of NRL FA in nurturing and developing young footballers for success at higher levels of competition
